SEBI Grade A 2021 Application Process - Apply Online Now

The candidate will find the registration and application link for SEBI Grade A exam on their official website. You need to register first and once you get the application ID and password, you must login once more to complete the next parts of the application.

The application for the SEBI Grade A recruitment exam was announced to be started on March 7th 2020. The last date to apply for the application was 23rd March 2020. The first phase of the examination was scheduled on 12th April 2020. However, with the current pandemic scenario, the dates were changed. In a recent announcement, the board extended the application date till 31st October 2020 and also released the new dates for the recruitment. According to the new notification, the first phase of the Screening Test will be held on 17th January 2021 and the second phase Online Examination will be held on 27rh February 2021.

  • Candidates should log in to the official website of the SEBI.
  • Open the SEBI RECRUITMENT EXERCISE - RECRUITMENT OF OFFICER GRADE A (ASSISTANT MANAGER) - 2020 and click on Apply Online.
  • In the next step, click on NEW REGISTRATION and enter your name, contact details and email id. After this, the candidates will receive a registration number and password. Note this down safely as it will be useful in the future. The credentials will be sent to your email id as well. 
  • In the next step candidates are required to upload a photo, signature, left thumb impression and handwriting declaration as per the specifications given in the guidelines.
  • Click on the Preview tab after entering all the information to cross check. Now Click on FINAL SUBMIT.
  • Click on the payment tab to go to the payment gateway. Make payment here.
  • After successful payment, download the receipt for further reference. 

SEBI Grade A Vacancy 2021

SEBI Grade A 2021 Eligibility Criteria

SEBI Grade A eligibility criteria are defined under two stages which are age limit criteria and educational qualification. In order to apply for SEBI Grade A 2021 exam, you need to fulfil the following SEBI Grade A eligibility criteria. The applicants need to make sure that they qualify for the SEBI Grade A eligibility criteria namely: Age Limit, Educational Qualification, Nationality, and others. The criteria given out in the official recruitment notification of SEBI Grade A are discussed in this article. (A) Age Limit (as on 29/02/2020):

A candidate must not have exceeded the age of 30 years as on February 29, 2020 e., the candidate must have been born on or after March 01, 1990.

(B) Educational Qualification

1. General: Master’s Degree in any discipline, Bachelors’ Degree in Law, Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering from a recognized university, CA / CFA / CS / Cost Accountant.

2. Legal: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University/ Institute.

3. Information Technology: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Electronics And Communication / Information Technology / Computer Science) OR Masters in Computers Application OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years duration) in Computers / Information Technology.

4. Civil Engineering: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.

5. Electrical Engineering: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.

6. Research: Master’s Degree in Statistics / Economics / Commerce / Business Administration (Finance) / Econometrics from a recognized University / Institute.

7. Official Language: Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level or Master’s Degree in Sanskrit / English / Economics / Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level from a recognized University / Institute.

Note 1: Post Graduate Diploma in any discipline will be accepted as an educational requirement for General stream and a Post Graduate Diploma in Statistics / Economics / Commerce / Business Administration (Finance)/ Econometrics will be acceptable as an educational requirement for Research Stream, provided the same is recognized as equivalent to a Master’ Degree in that discipline by Govt. of India.

Note 2: Candidates are permitted to apply for a maximum of 2 streams only for which he/she is eligible to apply, as per their educational qualifications.

NOTE 3: Candidates who have appeared for the final examinations and waiting for the results are eligible to appear for Phase I, Phase II and Phase III of the selection process. However, the offer to join SEBI to the selected candidates shall be subject to the production of necessary documents evidencing successfully obtaining the requisite qualification.

SEBI Grade A 2021 Selection Procedure

Securities and Exchange Board of India has a well-defined SEBI Grade A Selection Process 2020. The whole procedure of selection is divided into three major steps that filter the candidates according to their ability at each subsequent stage. The written exams take place in two Phases, namely Phase 1 and Phase 2 and the final determining step is Phase 3 that involves Interview. Phase 1 and Phase 2 Exams are held online at various examination centres fairly spread across different states of India. The SEBI Grade A final Interview Phase is a one on one, face to face process.   SEBI Grade A Selection procedure is based on 3 major stages:

The important phases of the SEBI Grade A Selection Process 2020 in chronological order are mentioned below. 

  • SEBI Grade A Phase 1 Online Examination : This constitutes of Paper 1 of 100 marks and Paper 2 of 100 marks. Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 needs you to solve multiple-choice questions.
  • SEBI Grade A Phase 2 Online Examination: All the candidates who successfully make it through the Phase 1 exams by securing the requisite cut off marks need to sit for the Phase 2 exams. The SEBI Grade A Phase 2 Exam also constitutes of two papers namely Paper 1 carrying 100 marks and Paper 2 also carrying 100 marks.
  • Interview: Phase 3 of the exam involves Interview for all the candidates who qualify the SEBI Grade A Phase 2 exams upon securing equal to or more than the required cut-off marks. In this phase, candidates are evaluated on one to one basis in a face to face interview and marks are awarded for each question they face.  Candidates will be called for the interview only if they qualify the phase-II exam. minimum 30% in paper-1 and 40% in paper-2 along with 40% aggregate is required to qualify the exam.

The final selection of the candidates rests upon the combined marks secured by the candidate in Phase 2 and The Interview. It is advised that once you have qualified the Phase 1 Exam you need to prepare thoroughly to gain maximum marks in the subsequent Important Phases of SEBI Grade A Exam

SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern 2021

In phase 1, all the candidates will have a common paper I and paper II from the general stream. All the questions asked in both the phases will be of MCQ type except the language subject.  All question papers of both the phases are set in a bilingual manner (Hindi and English), except the English test. An online screening examination consists of two papers (Multiple Choice questions of 100 marks each).

With the release of the dates of phase I and phase II of the recruitment process, minimum cut off marks have also been stated in the notification. The phase I will conduct on 17th January 2021. The cut off every year is calculated on the basis of the difficulty level of the exam paper and the number of candidates appearing for the examination. SEBI Grade A 2021 Admit Card

It is duly advised that you should download your SEBI Admit Card 2021 within a few days after they release it on their official website. This will save you from last-minute hustle and time. Candidates will not be allowed in the exam hall of SEBI without the hard copy of the admit card. To download the SEBI Grade A admit card 2021, you need to undertake the following steps –

  1. Visit the official website of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
  2. Go to the home page.
  3. Click the tab ‘Careers’.
  4. Search for the link given to download the admit card 2020 for SEBI Grade A Officer Exam and click on the link.
  5. Enter the login credentials asked for ( date of birth or cell phone number etc.)
  6. Click the login tab.
  7. Download the SEBI Grade A Admit Card.

SEBI Grade A Result

A key criteria of the SEBI Grade A exam is that the candidate has to acquire the minimum marks separately for the different papers and sections in order to be qualified for the final merit list. Once the results are out, the candidate can check them, following the steps mentioned below:

  • On the official website of SEBI, the result link will be made live once it is published.
  • Click on the link and go to the career option to choose the stream for which you have applied.
  • The list of shortlisted candidates will be provided on the website.
  • The result dates are yet to be declared for the exam.

SEBI Grade A Reserve List 2020-21

SEBI Grade A Reserve List 2020-21 has been released by the Securities and Exchange Board of India. Basically, the reserve list is for the applicants who fall under the reserved categories like Scheduled Castes (SC), Backward Class, Economically Weaker Sections(EWS) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). As per the SEBI Grade A Reserve List 2020,  there is a separate set of eligibility criteria and age limit relaxations for the reservation category applicants. 

Applicants who mark themselves under this category have to submit the supporting documents which are issued by the Central or State Government of India. The SEBI Grade A Reserve List 2020 specifies the vacancies reserved for an applicant applying under any of the reserved categories. 

The vacancies mentioned in the SEBI Grade A Reserve List 2020 is yet to be released category wise and post wise by the board. This time, the vacancies are announced for the positions available in the streams like Legal Stream, Engineering Stream (Electrical and Civil), General Stream, Information Technology Stream, Official Language Stream and Research Stream.

SEBI Grade A 2021: Salary, Work Profile, Scope and Promotion

The pay scale of SEBI Grade A officer is Rs. 28150-1550(4)-34350-1750(7)-46600-EB-1750(4)-53600- 2000(1)-55600 (17 years). Currently, the gross salary including SEBI’s Contribution towards National Pension Scheme (NPS),  Special Allowance, Family Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Grade Allowance, Local Allowance, etc. at Mumbai at the minimum of this scale is approximate. Rs. 1,07,000/- per month. without accommodation and Rs. 73,000/- per month. with accommodation.

  • The basic pay is approximately INR 28, 150 for a Grade-A officer.
  • For the first 5 years of service, there is an annual increment of INR 1550.
  • From 6-12th year, the increment of basic pay is annually done at the rate of INR 1750 per month.
  • Till the 17th year of service, the annual increment of the basic pay will be INR 2000 per month.

SEBI Grade A Work Profile

As there are five different streams for SEBI Grade A recruitment, each profile may have different work and tasks to be completed beforehand.

  • Looking after the legal issues. Employees will be responsible for the issues related to the legal framework and organization itself.
  • Handling issues related to market securities, commodities, and Indexes, etc.
  • The employee may be given multiple responsibilities in the IT department.
  • Looking after the acquisition and mergers.

SEBI Grade A 2021: Scope and Promotion

  • Grade A officer is the entry-level officer post in the SEBI organization. One can expect to become an executive director, which is the top-level post in an organization. Chairman and whole-time members.
  • The executive director can also be promoted to the post of chairman.
  • Promotions depend on the work done in the organization although it may take 5-6 years to be promoted in SEBI.

SEBI Grade A 2021: Exam Centres

At the time of filling the application form, candidates have to choose an exam centre. The Phrase-I will be conducted in approximately 100+ cities all over India. The Admit Card should reflect the same location of your exam venue as what you have chosen. Once chosen, candidates cannot amend the exam centre later. The list of exam centres is present, candidates can choose the exam centre suiting them the most from the same.

The following name of centres will be available for all candidates while applying for the Phase-I venue section. Candidates will be required to choose 3 preferred venues.
